Imaptient at 16 weeks 4 days

I was way too impatient to wait until our 20 week anatomy scan to find out the gender of our little love bug so we went for an elective ultrasound at 16 weeks, 4 days!
As you can see, Matthew is in TROUBLE because now he has two ladies to cater to! I preferred a little boy as a first baby but I was overjoyed to find out I was having a "mini me". Hello, Sophia! We love you so much already.

HELLLOOOO Second Trimester!

First Trimester Pains!

I'm writing this blog for family, friends, myself and for Sophia to read when she is old enough. This is my journey to become and mother with no censors! Enjoy!

Aches & Pains?

-Morning sickness
-Disgusting discharge
-Swollen breasts

We moved to Hawaii on August 9th, 2011. My husband is in the Army and we are stationed at Schofield Barracks. When we arrived, I was 5 weeks pregnant and thinking this was going to be a breeze! BOY WAS I WRONG!!! We were living in a hotel until our housing was ready and that made matters worse. My morning sickness kicked in at about 7 weeks and didn't go away until about 16 weeks! The only things I could keep down were water, oreo mini's and saltines! I was miserable, I couldn't even brush my teeth without gagging and dry heaving. For 38 days.. I had the pleasure of throwing up every time we walked out of the hotel thanks to Byrons, a Hawaiian food drive inn that was right outside our building. September 13th was the long awaited day to move in to our new but always temporary home! I passed the time peeing, and unpacking and then peeing about 40 more times. I probably used the bathroom about 500 times in the first 3 months!

First Trimester, First Scare, First Ultrasound!

At 8 weeks and 5 days, we had a little scare. I had some light bleeding and slight cramping. Scared and nervous we went to Tripler SDEC (Same Day Evaluation Clinic) I waited 4 VERY long hours to be taken back and checked. Matt had finally made it to the hospital and was waiting right along with me. They took us back and set up for an ultrasound.. and as soon as I seen that little blob I fell in love. Her heartbeat was so strong and she was perfect! They concluded it was probably implantation bleeding.

The day that would change our lives - July 28th, 2011

On July 28th, 2011 I worked an extremely long double and was having some pretty bad back pain. I chalked it up to the fact I should be starting my cycle soon. I have never had a normal cycle and after trying to conceive for quite some time, I wasn't thinking I could ever be pregnant! I was only 2 days late and that was a norm for us. I decided to entertain the idea of a HPT.. like I had numerous times before and was left disappointed. Matt took a late night trip to Wal-Mart and picked up a box of 3 tests. I ran to the restroom and prepared myself for more sadness. Two minutes passed, then three minutes and finally the five minutes were up. I looked and holy crap.. TWO of the most beautiful pink lines I have ever seen in my life. I ran throughout my moms house screaming "Oh my God! Oh my God!!" I felt 100 different emotions at once and was in such shock I ended up taking the other two tests that night and then the last one the next morning!

4 weeks and 3 days along!
